Your pastures need the same minerals in your mineral block

In pastoral operations across Australia, we all utilise a range of products and applied practices to ensure the health and wellbeing of our stock, is maintained and continually improved. This is important in all successful livestock operations. One of the products we use to meet the above ends are salt blocks/mineral blocks. These supplement blocks are so important to our operations that over 2 million individual salt licks/mineral blocks are sold in Australia each year.

Why salt licks/mineral blocks exist is that Australian soils are deficient in a number of trace minerals and these deficiencies vary between regions. To ensure our farming enterprises reach full potential we utilise these products. Inevitably we do encounter shy feeders on the salt block or the opposite of over consumption from a few, every time. This leads to an unknown opportunity loss within the herd, flock or stable. If these minerals are so important to the performance of our livestock, then we need to consider how to do this for our Pasture.

When using Stock Roots on your pasture (ryegrass, clover, fescue, phalaris, etc.), you will ensure a more balanced supplementation program for all your stock avoiding the shy feeders on the mineral block or the opposite of over consumption from a few. If you supply minerals via more natural pathways, you will see the results via improvements in your pasture feed value, its growth, and stock productivity.
